Why do I have such bad luck with women?

Well, recently I've been having bud luck with the women. I use to use the pick-up line "Hey what does this chloroform rag smell like?" but, that only works for a little while. They end up leaving me after that, sometimes screaming. So what I'm wondering is if it's the pick-up line causing my misfortune?
