Is it safe to replace R30 recessed light bulbs with regular 60W compact fluorescent bulbs (looks not a factor)?

I have 8 recessed light cans in my basement but I really don't like the light temperature from regular R30 bulbs and they use too much power. I know R30 CFL bulbs are available in higher temperatures but they are still overpriced. Are there any risks of fire if I use regular 60W 6500K CFL bulbs for example?
