Can I work for nasa as a biomedical engineering major?

I know its a bit of a stretch and that they usually employ aerospace and mechanical engineers. but maybe its possible I would work for the life support side of manned missions or whatnot. would this major hinder my chances if i considered applying for a job with nasa?
