My computer got virus', worms etc. overnight and now my Internet Explorer won't work. Can anyone help?

I have Windows XP and I was running a scan with Malware Bytes Anti-malware which usually works wonderfully. It showed me like 4 viruses, 2 worms and a whole mess of other malware that was in my computer and it said that I had successfully removed them at the end of my scan the comp. re-booted and everything but when I went to go on the internet is said page can not be displayed check your connection, if you spelled the address correctly...etc. I did that. I was able to sign on to AIM and when I checked my network connections in my computer it was all connected and said that it was running fine. But still, no internet. I even reset the system to the day before and re-ran the scan to get everything out all over again and had the same problem. And I went back to set it two days prior to today and it wouldn't let me. It was like I was locked out of last month entirely. I'm currently on my sisters laptop that's how I'm able to get online. Pleaseee help me. I'm pretty okay with fixing things on a computer with step by step instructions but please don't include websites for me to download programs to fix the program because I just can't get on. Thanks ahead of time. =]
