I previously asked for help concerning shieldsand had two responses but each proxy recommended was ineffective?

Chinese government seems to have blocked each proxy site. There does not appear to be any free downloads and I hesitate to pay money for the unblocking if the paid sites do not work either. Any other suggestions?
